EDGARS CREEK SECONDARY COLLEGE GETS FIRST PRINCIPAL
A principal has been appointed to lead Edgars Creek Secondary College as construction continues at the new school in Epping North.
Member for Thomastown Bronwyn Halfpenny today announced Joanne Camozzato as the first principal of the new $16.7 million school.
Scheduled to open in 2018, Edgars Creek Secondary College is being built to accommodate the rapid demand for secondary education in Epping North.
Ms Camozzato’s career in education has spanned more than 20 years, working in schools in both the Australian Capital Territory and Victoria. More recently, Ms Camozzato worked as Middle School Principal at Mernda Central College. She is looking forward to the opportunity to make Edgars Creek Secondary College a vibrant and inclusive school for the Epping North and Wollert community.
Edgars Creek Secondary College will open in two stages from term 1, 2018. Year 7 foundation students will be taught at Mernda Central P-12 College for terms 1 and 2 in 2018, before transitioning to the new Edgars Creek Secondary College in term 3 next year. The Victorian Government will support students and families during this time with student transport provided between Edgars Creek Secondary College and Mernda Central P-12.
