GIVING THOMASTOWN KIDS THE SCHOOL FACILITIES THEY DESERVE

Students in Thomastown East Primary School will soon have the modern classrooms and school facilities they need to get the great education they deserve, thanks to a major upgrade by the Andrews Labor Government.

Bronwyn Halfpenny visited Thomastown East Primary School to announce that ATCO Structures & Logistics Pty Ltd has been awarded the construction contract.

The $2,070,000 million project includes delivering a new architect-designed modular building to replace the classroom block with new classrooms, a library, art and craft room.

The Labor Government is building the Education State so every Victorian student can get a great education and every community has access to a great local school.

This includes an unprecedented $3.8 billion investment to improve classrooms, upgrade facilities and build new schools across the state.

This school building boom has delivered more than 1,300 school upgrades and 70 new school projects across the state, supporting more than 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians.

“This is an exciting day for Thomastown East Primary School and I am proud of the work done to secure this funding for this project.”

“As part of the Government commitment to remove asbestos from schools, Thomastown East Primary School is getting brand new classrooms. Students have also sent me beautifully written persuasive writing pieces highlighting the communities desire to have new cladding on old buildings and I will also advocate for this.”
