MAJOR WORKS BEGIN ON O’HERNS ROAD PROJECT
As of Friday 23 February, major construction works are now underway on the O’Herns Road interchange project.
The first stage of the project will replace the roundabout at O’Herns Road and High Street with traffic lights and add a raised platform at the intersection to improve safety. Stage 1 is expected to be completed in mid-2018.
Member for Thomastown Bronwyn Halfpenny said residents have been waiting a long time for this vital upgrade.
The second stage of the project includes duplicating O’Herns Road and adding a diamond interchange to provide easier access to the Hume Freeway. Overall completion is due in late 2019.
This is election promise from the Victorian Labor Government – we will deliver on all our promises.
