Bronwyn was first elected to the Victorian Parliament to represent the electorate of Thomastown in November 2010 and since April 2026 holds the position of Parliamentary Secretary for the State Electricity Commission.
Bronwyn has served as
Government Whip in the Legislative Assembly from August 2016 – June 2020
Acting Speaker from February 2023 – February 2024.
Parliamentary Secretary for Workplace Safety from June 2020 -December 2022,
Parliamentary Secretary for Jobs from December 2022 – December 2024
Parliamentary Secretary for Roads from December 2024 to April 2026.
As Parliamentary Secretary for Jobs, Bronwyn was involved with the Jobs Victoria program, Local Jobs First Act reform and worked toward greater local procurement in the public health sector including the biomedical and medical technology industries.
As Parliamentary Secretary for Workplace Safety, Bronwyn served as the Co-Chair of the Ministerial Taskforce on Workplace Sexual harassment that developed and recommended reforms for Government such as the recent legislation to restrict Non-disclosure Agreements that are often used to silence victims of sexual harassment.
Bronwyn also served as the Government Co-Chair for the Workplace Incidents Consultative Committee, (WICC) made up of members with lived experience and established under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (Act) to provide advice to the Minister for WorkSafe and the TAC.
The WICC developed ‘A best practice model for workplace incident support’ based on the contributions of those with lived experience leading to structural and compensatory reforms to WorkSafe to better support individuals and families affected by a serious workplace incidents.
Bronwyn has served on the Family and Community Development Committee (FCDC) from May 2011 – November 2014, the Environment and Natural Resources and Regional Development Committee (ENRRDC) December 2014 – October 2018, Legislative Assembly Standing Orders Committee from March 2019 – June 2021, and the Workplace Incidents Consultative Committee
In 2015–2016, Bronwyn chaired the Victorian Parliamentary Inquiry into the Country Fire Authority (CFA) Training College at Fiskville that investigated widespread toxic chemical exposure that elevated cancer rates among firefighters and resulted in the establishment of a redress scheme for victims as well as providing one of the most comprehensive studies in Australia on ‘forever chemicals’ such as PFOS and PFOA

Prior to entering Parliament, Bronwyn built a strong foundation in the union movement. She served as Secretary of the Food and Confectionary Division of the Australian Manufacturing Workers’ Union from 1999 to 2006, followed by her role as Industrial Campaigns Officer at Victorian Trades Hall Council from 2006 to 2010.
Bronwyn has lived and worked in Melbourne’s northern suburbs for much of her life. She grew up in Watsonia and was educated at Watsonia Primary School and Montmorency High School before attending La Trobe University, where she completed a Bachelor of Economics.
She also undertook undergraduate teaching coursework at RMIT University. In 2016, she was invited to participate in the La Trobe University Mentor Program.
She remains actively engaged in the community and is a member of several organisations, including the Australian Manufacturing, and Emily’s List
